The Tithe Barn 23/05/2026

When starting out in wedding photography, it’s all about trust. Ximena and Scott trusted me to capture their special day despite my limited experience in wedding photography. Well… aside from showing off my dance moves at the weddings I’d attended before!

The sun was shining brightly, spirits were high, and temperatures reached a scorching 30°C. The Tithe Barn is a small, intimate venue, perfect for celebrating with around 40 guests.

Confetti

Who doesn’t love a confetti shot? It’s a key part of any wedding day and one of my favourite moments to photograph. It’s always the most relaxed, the most fun, and full of genuine smiles — especially when the children get involved and add a little mischievous chaos to the mix!

Wedding Breakfast & speeches

As the afternoon rolled on, everyone gathered inside The Polesworth Memorial Hall for one of the most heartfelt parts of the day — the speeches. Glasses were topped up, guests settled into their seats, and the room quickly filled with laughter, happy tears, and plenty of stories from years gone by.

From touching words to hilarious memories, every speech perfectly reflected the atmosphere of the day: relaxed, full of love, and centred around the people who matter most.

There’s always something special about photographing this part of a wedding — the reactions, the uncontrollable laughter, and those quieter emotional moments shared between family and friends.

The smaller, intimate setting of the memorial made everything feel even more personal. With close family and friends surrounding them, Ximena and Scott soaked up every moment together as the speeches unfolded. These are the moments that often become some of the most treasured memories from a wedding day, and it was a privilege to capture them all as they happened naturally.

First Dance and After Party

As the evening celebrations began, the atmosphere inside from relaxed and emotional to energetic and unforgettable. With the lights dimmed and all eyes on the dance floor, Ximena and Scott shared their first dance together as husband and wife.

It’s always one of the most special moments of the day — a chance for the couple to pause, take everything in, and enjoy a moment together amongst the whirlwind of the celebrations. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the smiles never left their faces as they danced the night away.

Of course, it didn’t take long before the dance floor filled up and the real party began. From questionable dance moves to singalongs and plenty of laughter, everyone brought incredible energy right through the evening. These are some of my favourite moments to capture as a wedding photographer — completely natural, full of personality, and often the moments people remember most.

What a Wedding.
